While moving away from fossil fuel, countries invest heavily in the development of wind farms. Over time the wind turbine generators have increased in height and diameter, thus invading the habitat of birds and other flying creatures. To measure the impact of these wind farms on the behavior of birds and the possible effects on their migration, extensive studies are being conducted worldwide.
The mobile radar platform provides a stable, yet mobile base for a complete bird-tracking radar system. A thermal insulated and water tight compartment accommodates the control system and a tilting arm provides support of the antenna during transport and upending. The heightened platform provides additional ground clearance, allowing the radar system to be operated worldwide.
